The 2014 Copa Cabana beach soccer season is off to a running start, more teams sign up each season to play the full tournament tour. The tour this year will bring Copa Cabana Beach Soccer to two new areas on the central and northern California coast. Added to the tour are Pismo beach and San Francisco's ocean beach. Beach soccer teams are signing up for multiple tournaments and a great improvement has been noted in the quality of play as well as the individual increase in skill of aerial passing and upper body control of the ball.

In the adult and pro-am divisions the games are continuing to improve and the excitement was seen by the multitude of crowds watching the players in the men's women's and coed divisions. Many teams are now in their seventh year of playing on the beach and there are some outstanding beach soccer players who have matured into young adults with an extensive history of challenging games in their beach experience.

We want to salute the women's team from Camp Pendleton the "Wolfpack" the Marines who will be going on duty in different parts of the world but vow to return and come to play in our beach soccer tournaments when they return. They have attended and competed in our beach soccer tournaments for many years and will be missed, the best of luck to all of you.

The youth division is growing with many U-8,9,10 teams joining our tournament circuit and the games are very exciting with these young players practicing and learning skills at a young age. They will be maturing into strong beach soccer players so that the US National Beach Soccer team can have more depth of players and be competitive on the world stage of beach soccer.

The U-12,13,14 games are becoming stronger and stronger with many different levels of skill from first time teams to veterans of several seasons as well as the skills learned in last year's summer beach soccer clinics and summer camps. New teams are showing up and catching on quickly by competing against teams in their second or third season.

Next up is our tournament in Zuma Beach which is filling up fast and promising to become one of our fastest growing tournaments in its third year with teams coming from as far away as San Diego to the south and Santa Barbara to the north. The sand at Zuma Beach has been groomed to perfection and will live up to its reputation of one of the greatest beaches in Southern California.

Our vendors who bring us the best in food and drinks as well as fresh cut fruit and smoothies will be with us traveling to all of our locations this year.

Join us in welcoming the Futboleros who performed their outstanding skills and juggling capabilities at the entertainment area of the Copa Cabana village while also running the 2V2 competition in the 20FT circular extreme soccer cage. The sudden death game had many players attempting to stay in there exhibiting their supreme dribbling and ball control skills. The cage will be set up at every Copa Cabana Beach Soccer tournament on this tour and you can test your skills in between the regularly scheduled games. Even if you are not playing in the tournament you can still come and test your skills in the cage.

Please register early so that we can make up the brackets and accommodate your requests and don't forget the registration deadline is one week prior to the tournament on Friday.

See you on the beach!
